WideWord Launch

Posted by Pelle edit

I now have almost all the features I wanted implemented in WideWord.

You can now choose to publish your private documents as public documents. I have improved the user interface. If you haven’t tried it since I first wrote about it last week, please do yourselves a favor and try it again.

I now am missing the following:

  • RSS of document versions
  • RSS of public documents
  • Web services
  • Private Read only sharing
  • Comments
  • Tagging of public documents, I’m not sure about this one as Del.icio.us does such a good job. Maybe I will integrate it there instead. For private tagging use StakeItOut.

I also now need to improve documentation, which will be written in WideWord itself of course.

They eagle eye might have noticed that I changed it from alpha to beta. I am not planning on being in permanent beta with this, so I will remove the beta tag as soon as I am happy that it doesn’t burn your house down.

From a business model stand point. This is not going to be a major moneymaker in itself, but the business model is really just to have google ads on the public pages. The private pages do not have any advertising and probably never will. If there is interest in a Pro like account without advertising on your pages, let me know.
