New WideWord release with "improved security" for expert users 3
By popular demand you can now disable the email that gets sent with your access url when you create a new document in WideWord. I recommend you only use this if you really feel you can’t trust your email system and you are sure you can bookmark the access url yourself in a safe place.
The reason why this is more secure is that if your email provider keeps a backup of all received email, they could get access to your documents. In most cases they would be legally bound to keep this secret unless they receive a court order or some other legal notice forcing them them to disclose your emails.
One real valid case where you might want to avoid sending an email is if you are an entrepreneur working daylight hours in a large company. Most large companies have very strict rules about email usage. You would definitely not want to send your WideWord business plan access url to your corporate email address. In most cases you would probably already have an external email address to use, but now you can disable the email.
If you want to create your document without me sending you your email, tick the checkbox on the form and remember to bookmark the page you go to immediately. This is very important as without the URL you can NOT access your document again. Due to WideWord’s security there is no way I can give you access again. I have created a little nag message to make sure you remember to bookmark it. Click the link inside it to stop the nagging again

Huh… Does this mean you are using the URLs as capabilities?
Hi Ian, Yes. I’m using capability URLS . Similar to what Tyler was/is doing.
Pelle
cool. Probably worth while writing a blog entry on just how you are doing that and then posting on caps-talk?
